Paynesville Gardens Community Care were they latest aged care recipients to receive wireless headsets as a part of the Music for Dementia Program. The program supports a range of dementia sufferers by bringing back music memories.  Familiar music is loaded into the headsets’ program and given to suitably selected dementia residents. Sue Roberts and Luke Smeaton from Bairnsdale Rotary Sunrise presented the headsets last Friday.  The program was made possible through finding support by East Gippsland Shire. Claire Richards, Lifestyle Coordinator at the centre said the Music for Dementia Program was an amazing way of calming many who are suffering dementia.  “It is such a wonderful thing to see dementia sufferers smiling and tapping their toes to music they enjoyed throughout their life”, Ms Richards said.
